“Hey, little bird!” Chloe heard someone shout at lunch the following day and all she wanted to do was freeze. She knew who it was even before she turned to him, and she was so embarrassed. No one knew that name, nor did they know who he was calling, but they were looking at him with weird looks on their faces, probably wondering to whom that weird name belonged to. He had a grin on his face, as if nothing had happened, while she stood here, all mortified. At this point, all she wanted was to disappear from this place if that was possible, but it wasn't. “God, you're such as ass.” She whispered as he walked towards her. She thought of what it might have been if she had pretended not to hear him call that out and continued her way, or didn't even stop so she wouldn't have to face him, but then again, she knew he was relentlessly stubborn, and would probably call her that until he caught up with her with those ridiculously long legs. People’s attention was still on him, still waiting
“There’s a party tomorrow night at Liam’s house,” Zach said as he picked up his book from the table to tuck it into his bag. "Do you think you want to come?” he asked Chloe and she gave him a look that said he couldn't be serious. “What? Isn't tomorrow a school night?” she asked, and he nodded. “Huh, yes it is. Is that a problem?” he asked and she shook her head with a smile. “Oh, no! It's not.” She said, sarcasm lacing her voice as she spoke. "I don't think I want to come though, I've got things to do.” She said. He should have known, he knew that she was a two goody shoe, and sometimes that annoyed the hell out of him, or maybe it was the fact that he was attracted to her that made his blood boil. Zach was the life of the party, and he own the school they both attended because of how mysterious he had always seemed to people, all handsome and brooding when he wanted and gorgeous and lively when he wanted. Knowing that he had never had to go through all of this just to make a gi
“You should really come to the party. Zach invited me too,” Hailey said, using her hand to push back her hair to look more stylish. "I guess we can go there and show them how it's done.” She added, grinning. They were in the last period and Hailey was whispering to her, even though she kept telling her she wasn't interested in going since the first period. There was absolutely nothing she had said to make her get off her back, and it was pretty annoying because it was becoming a distraction. Perhaps, it would be better to go change their schedule because it was so much alike. If they didn't share this many classes, maybe she wouldn't have to endure having to hear her bleed her ears like this, maybe she would have given up on it already. Chloe shook her head as she copied the note from the board, and she glanced at her where she sat beside her. “What the heck, Hailey?” she asked with a whisper, lifting her eyebrows in a question. "If you continue this way, you will end up in detenti
Chloe had finished cooking and getting things in place for her brothers by six, and when she tested Hailey to know where she was, she told her she was still at home trying to decide what to wear, so she decided that it was better she did one or two of her assignments instead of finding what to wear, so she laid her books out on the bed to do them. She did two of the ones that were due the next day and promised to do the other one when she came back from the party, then she grabbed her phone from her pocket to call her mother, who was almost never at home.“Hey, mom.” She greeted her with a small smile on her face. “Hey, little bird. I'm busy, I've got a lot of patients to attend to.” Her mother said, causing the smile on her face to wipe off. Her voice sounded as if she was rushing somewhere, and she wondered what she was doing, but that was just for a brief second. What was on her mind was what she had just said. “Oh, so that's it? You don't have time for me, or any of us at home?
A knock sounded on her door and she asked who it was. Hailey answered that it was her and she told her to come inside. Chloe wasn't dressed yet, but that was because she couldn't decide what to wear. She stood in front of the closet to find something, but nothing stood out to her. She had her hand to her chin, still in the towel, but properly dried up, with her hair dried and curled. She had done her makeup; a dark eyeshadow for her eyelids to make a smoky eye effect, and a little bit of powder here and there but making sure it was all blended. She had put on some dark lipstick that made her lips looked a bit bigger than they actually were and it was nice. Hailey opened her door and walked in, a dress bag in hand. She was wearing a beautiful dress and a pair of beautiful shoes to go with it, and Chloe wondered if she wasn't overdressed. It was a tight silver sequin dress that stopped at her mid thigh and left her shoulders bare with the little spaghetti straps that Chloe thought mi
They finally got to Liam’s house and the place looked beautiful, but it wasn't as elaborate as Chloe thought it would be, like Hailey’s house. “This is a nice place.” She said to Hailey, looking at the house through the window of the car. When Hailey parked the car, they both climbed out of it, and Hailey locked it up. While she did that Chloe looked around the house to see that by a high school party standard, or according to the ones she had seen in a movie seeing as she had never been on one, there was nobody out here in the garden throwing up, or couples making out, so she hoped the party wouldn't be as childish as she thought it might be. Liam’s house looked like something out of a movie, but it was also something she would consider an average house, for average people. “I hope we're not late to this party,” Hailey said and Chloe was tempted to ask why, but she realized it was because of the number of cars that were already parked around the house and down the street. “I don'
That was an unexpected question, Zach thought, a question no one had ever asked him, a question that scared the shit out of him. Instead of answering, he looked at her up and down slowly, and that caused Chloe to shift from one foot to the other, shifting so awkwardly under his gaze.He raised his eyes to meet hers again, and he heard her gasp so softly. His eyes became a little darker and he licked his lips at what he saw on her face. Damn, she was beautiful and messing with his head. "You didn't come all the way here like this, right?” he asked, racing his legs over the chair he sat on and leaning against the piano with his arms crossed. Chloe looked down at her body and then back at him. "I don't understand,” she said. "What's so wrong with my outfit?” she asked. He scoffed, removing his hand to gesture her up and down. "Do you not see how you're dressed? You look like you're modeling them.” He said, wondering in his head if that was him complimenting her or judging her clothes.
Zach jerked her backward into his body and then he wrapped his arms around her waist. If he hadn't acted fast like that, she would be stumbling down the ground. Someone had bolted past them as soon as they got downstairs and he had seen him coming so he had sprung into action. Chloe twisted her body in his arms to face him and his muscles tensed, the look in her eyes giving him a chill. Although, the boy that made him pull her into him had long gone, but he was too comfortable with the way she was pressed so sweetly against him that he didn't bother releasing her, and he knew that Chloe was just too stunned to pull away. He was going to have to enjoy this while it lasted. He wanted to reach up his hand to push the tendrils on her face behind her hair and maybe even grab the back of her neck gently, but he was scared it might break the spell. She was standing in front of him frozen with her mouth a bit open and that was so sexy to look at as hell. How can someone be this beautiful
