That was an unexpected question, Zach thought, a question no one had ever asked him, a question that scared the shit out of him. Instead of answering, he looked at her up and down slowly, and that caused Chloe to shift from one foot to the other, shifting so awkwardly under his gaze.He raised his eyes to meet hers again, and he heard her gasp so softly. Zach jerked her backward into his body and then he wrapped his arms around her waist. If he hadn't acted fast like that, she would be stumbling down the ground.
