An Unexpected Plan

Linda’s POV

I was now by the wall, sitting on the wall while my back lay against it. I was invested, I wanted to know more about this complicated person.

Kirby wet her lips and nodded to herself before continuing her story, “And then we finally did. I got pregnant and it felt like a miracle. In fact, it was. But things took a turn.”

“But that’s life,” She whispered this part to herself, pain flashing in her eyes. “Gabriel was supposed to fly to another state for work but I learned the next day that his plane had crashed and he died.”

“Wow,” I mouthed the word without actually saying it. It felt strange, because why was I feeling a bit sad for a woman this evil?

Maybe that was because I had a heart.

In those few seconds, I swear I thought that I saw Kirby’s eyes get teary but they soon got hard and clear as if they never were.

“The baby was the only real connection I had to Gabriel except the memories in my heart for him. But long story short, I got a miscarriage,” She said, shrugging
