Chris’s POV

I waited with bated breath for my aunt to tell me what she knew. I had a feeling that it was a lot that she was holding back, and I really wanted to know. I was tired of living in secrets.

Aunt Maze sighed, putting another spoon of ice cream in her mouth before finally speaking, “Your actual father, William Bill, was a brilliant man. He was on the brink of a medical breakthrough when it came to longevity in humans.”

“Okay…” I replied in a small voice, beckoning her to continue.

“But…that was when your adoptive father found out about the program. He wanted it for himself and had even tried to reach out to Willaim to buy it from him for a huge sum of money. But the guy said no, and that was the beginning of the end for him.”

My heart had a heavy bag of anxiety sitting on top of it. Based on where this seemed to be going, I was not going to like it at all. “What did he do?” My voice was tinged with emotions.
