Chapter 30: Broken Hearts

As she stepped into her room, her tears descended down her face, showing how deeply hurt and broken she felt inside.

"Why did I let myself fall for someone like Hudson McKenney?" She whispered to herself, her voice laced with disappointment and regret.

Annette's heart was heavy with disappointment, the weight of the realization crushing her heart. With tears clouding her vision, she whispered softly, her voice a little shaky, "I won't say I didn't see this coming, but the fact that I knew he was a playboy doesn't make my heart hurt less."

Annette carried herself across the room to her bed, after locking the door behind her. She sunk onto her bed, enveloped by the comforter, seeking some form of comfort in its familiar embrace.
