CHAPTER-THIRTY

In that moment, tension enveloped us, leaving both of us momentarily speechless in the face of the situation. My gaze shifted back to Alistair, and a subtle smile played on my lips as I discerned a distinct hint of jealousy in his eyes. A frown crept across his face, deepening with each passing second. Our eyes met, a silent challenge passing between us as I dared him to do the worst.

His gaze shifted away, focusing on our entwined arms, and he busied himself adjusting his tie. The tension lingered, accentuated by Jayden's subtle nervousness.
