I release a shaky breath and see him still angry, so I continue the most meaningful excuse. "When we finally got something, Kendall had to download a file off their computer."

"What's in the file?" He says with an aggravated sigh.

That's good. He seems interested. "Well, it's a list of the older children they have kidnapped and made them inject the drug. The one they used on Myles. Then...Kendall found a hidden folder." I look up at him as my chest feels heavy and aches, not from the pain from my leg, though it still fucking hurts and still feels sore all over my body from the fight.

"You wouldn't believe what was in that folder," I scoff and continue. I sniffle, remove the folded paper from my bra, and hand it to him.
