“I-I...” I incoherently stammered, quickly noticing how Rem moved to stand closer to me, his posture also stiff and defensive, seemingly ready to block out any incoming threats.

“Hey, calm down you mama bear, it was just a forest spirit,” I then heard my father rather monotonically say, his words apparently having zero effect on the so menacing Archangel of Death as his harsh gaze never left mine, his tone still so accusing as he then asked,

“How did she manage to get to a forest spirit?”

“It was Daya’s friend. She was visiting her,” My father quickly answered his firing questions once again, his answer though seeming to only enrage “the demon” even further as those midnight skies momentarily turned pitch black, my lips escaping a small gasp as I widely stared now utterly petrified, shaken to the core, even though my father and brother were obviously still present and ready to protect me.
