Michelle hadn’t known much about death. She never wanted to be going directly to it, especially when she’s yet to achieve her dreams. No, unless she’s accomplished, never would this word be branded to her.

But no matter how she denied it, she could never overlook the truth that she was drowning, now closer to death than she’d ever been.

The waves tossed her everywhere, and she’s starting to lose track of where she was. The coldness, the thickness of the water caressing her skin was the only thing she could feel. Whether or not it’s just her imagination, the fact that she couldn’t feel the other’s presence made shivers ran down to her spine. She knew they weren’t dead, that just like her, they were floating seamlessly in the depth of the ocean, played by the waves and, possibly, by death’s rotting hand.
