By Monday morning, Mia was sore, but in a way that made her feel more alive than she could ever remember feeling. Making love to Beau all weekend long had been incredible, and part of her hadn’t wanted the weekend to end.

But part of her was ready to go back to see Sam as well, even though she was pretty sure he was going to fire her. She’d decided that the cryptic message he’d given her to tell his brother, the one about Beau having until Monday, had meant he had that long to convince Mia to quit or find her a new job. Since neither of those things had happened, she fully expected to be asked to clean out her desk when she got to the office. Luckily for her, all of her possessions would fit in her handbag—some breath mints, a stick of deodorant, some perfume, and a couple of changes of panties for when she couldn’t stand sitting around in sopping wet ones anymore.
