Chapter 208

"Alright. I promise," Bryce said, fixing his dark eyes on Holly.

He said firmly but gently, "You have to be strong. Hang in there."

There was a great deal of heartache behind those simple words.

Holly was digging her nails into the table. She gritted her teeth, nodding.

Although she looked so weak and fragile, she had a determined expression on her face. That made Bryce's heart ache even more.

He stared at her very intently. At that moment, it seemed like he was placing all of his hopes on her.

After that, he opened the door and walked out.

He was afraid he wouldn't be able to leave if he stayed.

Once outside, he took off his sterile scrubs and called Tobin. "When will the results come out?"

Tobin looked at his watch, then at the police hard at work. "We have to wait for the shop assistants to arrive. Their fingerprints and footprints will all be examined.

"Mrs. Gabelman's mug has been taken to the lab for testing. The quickest we can get it is probably tomorrow morning."
