Ch 22 - History

Zen was immediately intimidated by the men and women around him. He may be royalty, but he knew that the men and women he was in the room with, had the power to take that away from him. They all eyed him, not a single one speaking up.

“The men and women before you come from the prestigious families that have kept the vampire kingdom running behind the scenes for all these years. They all have something to lose by betting on you, but before we get to them, I need to teach you the history of the order,” Frazier told him, leaving the room.

He assumed it meant that he had to follow, and he looked back to check if the other men were coming along, but they weren’t. Instead, he could hear the silence break as they all discussed their first impressions of him. He was too far gone to hear what they were saying, and eventually, they were out of earshot.
