399. An Invitation

A letter from Lucas?

Heidi didn't know what to feel at first, the emotion in her heart a mix of shock and anger.

But then, she recalled that she'd blocked the man's contact. What's with the bouquet though?

The maid walked away and Heidi paused before opening the envelope. Was she even supposed to read it?

She wanted nothing to do with him, what's the use in reading his letter?

But then, her curiosity got the best of her.

She peeled off the envelope, revealing the white paper inside. An invitation to Grandpa Winston's burial, accompanied by a letter.

Wasn't it too coincidental that Lucas's letter arrived at the same time Heidi saw it on the news?

Almost thinking he wasn't going to allow her to be there because of his so-called guarding of her emotions, she was quite surprised.

Sighing, Heidi went through the letter.

[Hey, it's been long, isn't it?]

Well, that wasn't the opening line Heidi looked forward to seeing.
