***SIN'S POV***Yesterday was a tedious day. I hate the fact that I implicated Summer into watching me fight with Matteo, but that sshole almost got her killed I spent the night with Summer in my arms and today, I have a meeting with some of my men about Vincent Cabero. He needs to pay for what he has done to his daughter and even more. As I grab my tie and start knotting, I think about Michelle. She was supposed to start her internship at the hospital today. I always make sure I use influence to get whatever I want and her being here with me, I think we can bond more. I really miss her being a baby. Grabbing my stuff, I walk over to the bed and plant a gentle kiss on Summer's lips. She purrs like a kitten as she opens one eye. "Off to work already?" she asks warmly. "Yes, little one. Have a nice day and don't get into trouble," I mutter, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. Giggling, she replies, "Yes, Mr. Sin,"Walking out of the room, I ask to make it
***SIN'S POV***I haven't seen Matteo all day and the last I heard of him, Killian had said he went to his penthouse to release the steam. I'm not fucking mad at him for trying to fight me, but the fact that he almost got Summer killed, no, I am not letting that slide and he needs to know that. I take the car to the hospital at exactly five o'clock and wait for Michelle to come out. A couple of minutes later, I spot her in her blue scrubs, a bag on her arm as she hurries downstairs. Sighing, I horn and she comes straight to the car. "Hi, Sin," she greets, relaxing in the car seat. "Seatbelts on, lady," I say, igniting the car. Obeying, she looks out of the window, evidently avoiding me. "You can't ignore the elephant in the room," I tell her. "It has been a shitty first day at the hospital, Sin, please, can we go home?" she asks "We are having a conversation," I state. "What are you now, Daddy or something? Remember you hate being called dad, so, I will advise
***SUMMER'S POV***I know it was a dick move to cook for Sinclair, but I was so bored I just had to kick Poppy out of the kitchen and do all of the cooking myself. Now, with this question of where I learned how to cook and all the like, I don't even know how to respond to it. "Well?" Sin asks swirling a fork full of spaghetti and chewing it deliciously. "I was bored while growing up, thus, I needed something to occupy my mind. I started watching videos online on how to bake and cook. Made a lot of mistakes, but yeah! I finally got a grip on it," I confess. Michelle hums while eating, and Sin just stares at me. "How did you meet Smokey and Gunner?" he asks and I choke. Mich hands me a glass of water, her eyes filled with amused silence. "Thank you," I mouth my gratitude as I wait for my brain to process a response easily. "Just a couple of tears ago. Gunner saw me first, I was homeless and then, he brought Smokey with him a couple of days later when he came for
***SIN'S POV***I'm going to admit that I have a shit luck when it has to do with my taste in women. First, the woman I am shackled to for the next two weeks is pregnant and abused by her father. Now, the woman I have shackled into spending ninety days with me has been abused before. Fuck luck. "Hush, Summer, I hate seeing you cry," I say honestly. Summer sniffles but doesn't look at me. "Who did you say the guy who hurt your name was?" I demand casually. "I didn't tell you a name," Summer responds, beating me to it "Oh, you didn't? So tell me, who hurt you?" I ask my voice guttural and I see the shiver running down her spine. I hate that. "I don't want to talk about it, please," she begs disengaging from me. Looking at her with wide eyes, I don't force Summer. I know when to get a woman time, I know it is only then that she can come to me with the truth. "I'm sorry for being emotional and..." I stop her with my index finger against her lips. "That's enough
***SUMMER'S POV*** I knew something was wrong but what I didn't know was what. And the fucking fact that I couldn't trust my gut enough to see what is happening is what is slowly killing me. One week. Fucking Sinclair has been avoiding me for a week. I don't blame him, I get bored sometimes too, but I've never felt so lonely now than when I was with my best friends. Again, I wake up to an empty bed, Sinclair is out there building his empire in Seattle and I am left with a broken heart and a needy pussy. Since our last encounter, Sin has been distant, and so has the number of hours he spends out there. Things got better between him and Matteo and even though I barely see the fucker, he has enough wits to stay away from me. Taking a quick shower, I make it to the kitchen and sit over a bowl of cereals, munching greedily. I feel Matteo before I see him. When our eyes meet, I stand, wanting to escape. He blocks me, his hands in the air with a pure smile creepin
***SUMMER'S POV***I grab the badge of whiskey and head out to the bonfire. As promised, Matteo had arranged for everything and as he stands by the grill roasting pork, I approach him. "Have you had burnt end porks and spicy gravy sauce?" he demands and I shake my head, denying it. "Oh, shit! You are missing out then," he mouths before cutting a slice from the thick pork on the grill and puts it in a plate for me. He hands me a fork and I take it. When I put the pork in my mouth, it melts instantly and it is so good. "Oh My God! This taste so good," I mouth out sweetly. "I know right? The special ingredient is that it is made out of love," he blurts out. My eyes widen and I cover my mouth, chewing decently. "Damn! I've never tasted something this good," I praise him. I turn to leave when Matteo speaks up, "Uhm... Summer?" he calls out. Swirling around, I look at him my brows quirking as I expect him to talk. "I'm sincerely sorry. I hope this lighten up
***SIN'S POV***I know I'm going to kill someone tonight, but I just need to know who is going to be that bastard that goes down. First, I need to make sure Summer is doing alright. "You had alcohol," I say because that was the damn truth. Summer opens her mouth to speak but she lowers her head into the pot and keeps emptying the contents of her stomach. My face is a twisted knot and I relax a little, trying my damnest best to be calm for Summer. "Shhh! Breathe through your nostrils, Summer, you are doing well," I encourage her. Slowly, she finishes puking and I flush it away. She stands and she reeks of alcohol. With her crossed expression, I know she is drunk. "How many fucking drinks did you have?" I ask as I lead her toward the sink. When I open it, she squeals in excitement. "Water. Look, Mr. Sin, so much water," she mouths out splashing the liquid on me. "Stop doing that," I say firmly. "Why? This is so funny," she murmurs. "No, it's not," I say.
***SIN'S POV***I wait for a while until I am sure that Summer is quite asleep before making my way downstairs. As she explained they are all having a party. That explains why the house was calm and deserted when I arrived. Outside, I make it to the direction we always have our bonfire and I see the men drinking and eating. "Boss!" they greet but I only groan as my eyes peruse the men, checking out for one man. "Where is he?" I demand searching, my anger rising by the second I don't spot him. "Who?" I hear one of my soldiers ask but I ignore him, my eyes still glaring wild. I spot Enzo sitting beside the edge of the woods and when he sees me, he makes it up but before he is to his full length, I use that to my advantage to knock him to the ground. "You little fuck!" I growl. "Oh no... No!" I hear men say as they come for Enzo's rescue. "Unless you want to make it your problem with me, stay out of this," I mutter, throwing another punch to his cheek. Enzo
