Chapter 17 Rumors

Brielle limped into the study hoping to see Sinclair there but he was no where to be found. She went out of the study only to hear someone's voice at the balcony. Could it be Sinclair? Brielle thought as she went there with the hope he would be the one. She got to balcony and saw Sinclair, he was on the phone call. She noticed that something was wrong because of the expression he had on his face.

Brielle was about calling out to Sinclair when she saw the placement on the vase, someone already tampered with it. She was sure that the case was going to drop right on Sinclair. Quickly, Brielle ran towards him putting pressure on her injured feet. Though it hurts but Sinclair's safety was more important. Immediately she shoved him out of harm's way, the glass vase fell and shattered into pieces. Brielle laid on the floor with Sinclair holding unto her. They were like that for a while even after the vase had been broken.
