FORTY EIGHT

Third pereon's pov

Dinner was mostly quiet; Alexa and Calan sat in the dinning hall having their dinner quietly, it was almost as though it was the only thing they could do without causing each other any sort of bother. Calan had accepted the fact that Alexa was hurt and upset to the point that she could only tolerate his presence because she loved him, and Alexa had accepted that she could only do nothing but tolerate his prrsence because she so deeply loved him.

And when the silence begun to get deafening and unnerving Calan spoke.

"What are your plans for tomorrow?". He asked her.

She probably should have inquired about why he was asking before she responded but she didn't, she knew it would lead to nothing but more hurt.

"I'm attending a party tomorrow". She replied quietly.

Calan couldn't stop his brow from arching slightly.

"A party?". He asked her, he didn't want to sound like he was blatantly not in support of her attending a party. "What kind of party?"
