“It’s why you’re so depressed….”.

His words hung deeply between us and I sat there staring at him while tears smoothly streaked down my cheeks.

“If you hadn’t been so hung up on the fact that this was an arranged marriage, you would have noticed that I kissed you first, and you didn’t ask me to”. He said to me.

He was talking about the first time, I remembered it all clearly but it seemed he didn’t remember it as I did.

“Not directly”. I said.

“Stop”. He said. He cupped both my cheeks delicately as though he thought I would break if he handled me otherwise. “Stop doing this to yourself”.

I blinked and more tears left my eyes, my eyes were getting sore now and my head was beginning to ache but I couldn’t stop myself from crying. If he claimed that he had kissed me without me asking him to then I needed to know why he had kissed me in the first place.

“Then why’d you do it? Why’d you kiss me?”. I asked him quietly.
