Chapter 60: Mixed Feelings.

Catherine's POV.

The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow on the tangled sheets. As I slowly opened my eyes, the events of last night flooded my consciousness like a tidal wave. Mixed emotions swirled within me, creating a storm I couldn't ignore.

"Lucas," I whispered his name, memories of last night rushing into me in waves and I couldn't help but smile despite the mixed emotions I was feeling.

I shifted in the bed, feeling the pleasure ache of Lucas's touch on my skin. There was a warmth and intimacy that both scared and comforted me. What am I doing? Is this right? Questions circled in my mind and sat heavily on my soul. I had promised myself not to overthink again but here I am, doing that which I had promised myself not to do.

"Gosh," I muttered, touching his side of the bed that was no longer warm, it meant he had been up for a while now.
