Chapter Twenty-Three

After doing the laundry of Blake, I went back to my room and sat down on the small wooden chair. My wrists hurt and my arms arched.

Mrs Peterson, the head maid walked into the room and met me in that condition, she noticed my swollen hands. She picked up a balm from the table and sat down near me. "I knew you would need this when I saw you washing those clothes." She said.

I noticed something about her, she rarely smiled and I didn't know the reason. One could say she's an unhappy woman but I wasn't sure of that either. I also heard some maids gossiping about her but I just felt she was nice.

I nodded. "Yeah, I didn't know the master's clothes were hard to wash, I just thought it would be easy to wash,"

I shot my arms out as she applied the balm all over my hand. "Thanks," I muttered as she placed her hands on the floor before closing the lid of the balm.

Very soon, the pain began to reduce and I felt quite relieved.
