He blinked, then jerked his head forward, calling for everyone’s attention as Jesse took her place back at my side. She was looking at me uncertainly, reaching for my hand again.
And I took it. Damn me, but I took it.

“Our night is almost over,” I barked at them, reminding the Alphas who were looking agitated, like they might actually rush to me now, that this was not the time. The pack was bubbling, no longer hiding their shock and disapproval, openly leaning into each other. The mind links would be awash.
