Chapter 92: Next round

Joanne was bubbly but severe, and she was avoided by the other concubines when she got the chance to sit with us. She seemed upset, but she managed to smile at me to avoid some misunderstanding while they were waiting for the contest to start.

Lady Maureen didn't bother to hide how she disliked Joanne for being barbaric, while Sarah was still stoic. Joanne's face flushed in humiliation; she cleared her throat before she laughed nervously.

I hoped I had an answer for her because I knew how it felt to be embarrassed, even though she didn't do anything wrong against them.
