111. Dead-End Street

Dianne stared at the long, endless alleyway, one side of which was the high wall dividing the textile factory area on that cold night. She swallowed heavily, realizing that her actions were actually ridiculous.

"I'm here, so what?" she said to herself, continuing to pace faster and occasionally startled by the sound of a black cat emerging from behind a clattering trash can.

The girl checked her phone, the email she had sent in reply to the terrorist had not been replied to. She tried calling the number that had sent her the photo earlier in the day, but it was not active either.

"Damn! Is he just a prankster trying to prank me!" cursed Dianne, even though she was quite serious because this was related to her late mother.

Dianne took a deep breath, exhaling it so roughly that it caused smoke to come out of her mouth. "Well, I'd better go back home, let's just say I'm jogging at night to an area I've never been to.
