I pounded the punching bag, my fists connecting with a relentless fury. Sweat streamed down my body, mixing with the salt of my frustration. Each punch was a desperate attempt to regain some control over the chaos in my head, but it was never enough. The anger, the pain, the regret—they all surged back with a vengeance.

Sarah. Her name echoed in my mind. It had been two days since the wedding, but the encounter was still fresh. I couldn’t forget how she defended that guy, her supposed friend. Every time I pictured her standing up for him, my blood boiled.
