Chapter 24 Healing The Soul

Things were going smoothly at the cabin. I was glad to be away from the pack. When we first arrived at the cabin, I was scared that Ophelia and her goons would come for me, but after four days and nothing happened, I relaxed.
Time at the cabin moved fast. The days were fun. Alex had a cook come in the mornings and leave after dinner. For fear of being poisoned, Alex and I ate from the same plate. He had found out that his mother was the one that sent Ophelia to deal with me, so he wasn't taking any chances.
We spent the days together, and I was having the time of my life. Alex was a fun person to be around, and I had started falling in love with him.

Alex Sam eventually woke up in the morning, and we returned to the cabin. What surprised me the most was the way Mason stood guard all night in the hospital. I used to think he had his reservations about Sam, but knowing he killed Hilda's goons and stood guard in the hospital all night cleared all my doubts.
