Two weeks had passed since Sam's twenty-first birthday. The pack was becoming agitated because they hadn't met her wolf. I had whisked her away from her party to buy us time, but apparently, it wasn't enough. I wondered why Sam was unable to shift. She had transformed a couple of times when she was nineteen. I now strongly believed she had damaged her wolf when she did what she did to me, so I could survive the fight with Raphael. I went to see my father explain matters to him. I knew he would be mad at me for not telling him what happened. I had no choice now. Keeping secrets wouldn't help our situation, so I told my father about Sam's wolf and the problem we were now facing.
