Sylvester had returned to the human town with me. We made sure we did not speak of what had transpired between us. There were questions in the air between us, but neither dared to ask for fear of what the outcome might be.

Knowing Glover had devised a new method of attack, by gouging out the eyes of his minions so they couldn't be enthralled by my stare, I needed to strengthen my fighting skills. Up until now, I had been fighting from instincts only, but now I needed to train properly and that was precisely why I let Sylvester return with me, and also his father insisted and my hands were tied because the decision was unanimously ratified.
