Chapter 4- The Thief

The Montefalco building is in chaos because the CEO of the company, Maria's Daddy, has been mad for a while. No one could get over his disappearance, not even his secretary, Paulina, who was also very afraid of what she saw. It was only now that she saw his boss act like that during the time she served here as a secretary. That's why she was still far away when she saw it running fast. When they both got close in the afternoon, she seemed very tired, having fought a marathon. "Paulina, why? Is there a problem? Am I late?" I asked one after another. "Yes, Ma'am Maria, sir has been losing control for a while now, and no one can wean him," she replied. She hurriedly walked into the elevator when she heard what Paulina said. Knowing her dad, he will not get mad or angry easily without reason or heavy problems. Even though she was nervous, she went to his dad's office to talk. She was about to knock when the door suddenly opened, and his dad gave him a bad look. "Good thing you're here," he said in an angry voice. She didn't know why his dad was angry. She had no idea; her mom already knew that she was set up. "You need money?" his Daddy would ask him without care, and she couldn't understand it yet. "No, Dad," she answered, thinking it was nothing. So she was surprised when she received two shaking slaps from each other. "No! But you managed to steal $10 million from the company. How could you do this to me? With your own dad???" This question is still hostile. "I don't know what you're accusing me of, Dad. Believe me, I can't rob the company," she answered and started to cry. "I don't believe you. Get out of my office and life now," it shouted loudly. And when she approached his dad, his chest suddenly tightened. "Ackkkk!!" "Dad! Daddy, help us! Please!" she shouted loudly while crying. She didn't know what to do, so she ran outside to ask for help. When her mommy came, "Mom, D..Dad," she said, unable to continue what she had to say. "What about him? Tell us???" This is a hostile question. Instead of speaking, Maria just pointed inside. Her mommy ran in there until she only heard him screaming for a few seconds. "Help, help us!! My husband needs help." Maria just remained standing and seemed to be stunned; she could also feel her knees shaking with so much anxiety. When Paulina saw her, she approached her to help. "Are you all right, ma'am, Maria? How are you? Did you calm down your dad?" it asked. "No." She didn't say what she wanted to say when the medics arrived and entered the CEO's office. Paulina was also surprised to see the body of her boss lying on the bed stretcher being taken out. "Give way! My husband needs to rush to the hospital," said her mommy, who was screaming for the people to step aside. When she saw her, she grabbed her arm, and her arm was so tight that she felt pain. "Mom, I'm in pain," Maria said here. I think it's really deaf, so she received a deafening slap and taunt. What did she expect from her mom? "I will really hurt and even kill you, girl, when something happens to my husband. That's not all you'll get from me. Remember that!" Donya threatened her. And with the strength of her voice, only the deaf would be able to hear. Mary glared at her. She just didn't pay. When she was about to move, they suddenly pulled her away. "Hep! Where do you think you are going??? Did you hear what Mommy said, or are you really fighting her?" said Mary, paying attention to their mommy again. She didn't care about them. She only wants her dad, nothing more. "You can't stop me from seeing my dad," Maria snorted in her loudest voice. She is very aware of them. "Don't make a scene here," her mommy reprimanded, noticing that there were more and more people looking curiously at the fight between the two of them. "Am I the one who caused trouble here? I just want to see my Daddy. Why are you not letting me in? I'm also a Montefalco," she insisted. They were silent and were about to open their mouths when one of the staff members was called and told that the old man had been taken to the hospital. They didn't wait any longer, and it was Gregor who brought one to the old man's steward. "W...what?? Let's go, ma'am. We won't get anything from this girl," said Mary while inviting her mommy. "We're not done, Maria. When something bad happens to my husband, remember to be ready for me," threatened his mommy, turning his back and walking away from him. While he was left dumbfounded and unable to walk his legs, when the witch's mother and daughter left, Paulina approached and shooed away the curious. "Oh! The show is over. Go back to work," she strongly ordered them. Everything she said was in vain. It's really gossip; it's not my job to understand. Shocking!! "Are you alright, Ma'am Maria?" Paulina asked. "Yes, I'm fine. Do you know where Dad was taken to the hospital, right?" I asked with a trembling voice. I never thought that my dad would be like that. "Yes, at Mt. Magdalene," she said. "Alright, I'll go." I answered that she stopped me. "What the hell, Paulina, let me go." I'm really annoyed by this. My dad needs me. "It's not possible, Ma'am Maria; you heard what your mommy said. I'm going to the hospital, and I'll let you know as soon as possible if your sister has left," she said. Paulina really sympathizes with everyone. She is the only one who knows that I am a Montefalco. "Thank you, Paulina. Alright, I have to investigate first," I said. "Investigate? Where???" it asked. But I can't tell him that's why I just answered him, "It's nothing; disregard it. I'm a little; I'm just not myself about what happened to Dad." I answer here. "Okay, alright, I'll go first," she said. "Thank you, Paulina; be careful," I say afterword. After she left, I started to enter my dad's office to look for evidence. I started to open his laptop, and I was able to open it easily since my dad hasn't liked to put a passcode on it ever since. And this is where my knees gradually shook from the sheer shock of what I saw.
