This is what I wanted to hear from her. This longing, this confession, this desperate need to get as close as possible to each other, I wanted it all. But things would not be the same once she got to know about what kind of monster I was.

So before she could get a chance to break me by leaving, before she could rip out my heart out with her words and leave me alone with a broken bond of fate, I am going to rip her away from me.

"I do not love you." I said to her with seriousness, "I can not accept you as my mate."

Bella winced at my words like a physical blow had hit her. And I hated myself for it. I hated to see the hurt that filled her eyes and I hated the pain that filled her heart.
