“We want to be as clear as a window,” Kristen said as she struggled to get up again. This was a normal thing for her right now. As she stood, the three men saw her bend over and get the folder of papers out of Greg’s briefcase. He had been carrying those around since the day they got married, but before that, he had a copy of her IDs and birth certificate in there as well. Knowing that this was going to come to a head sooner or later. Kristen handed it to the police officer and then took her place next to her husband and waited.

“Well, this is straightforward.” The man chuckled. “Can I ask why you had these ready?”

“A few of the teachers here had asked me to go out for drinks. It is well known that the teachers go out almost every Friday and get some at the place down the street. I turned them down every time.” Greg said.

“Why?” the officer asked.
