“Director Howard, can I please ask you for a favor.”

Colten nodded seriously. “Tell me.”

“Please take Elio back to the US.”

Colten could not comprehend why she asked him of that favor. “Why? Don’t you want to stay by his side?”

Estelle first nodded, but after giving it a thought, she shook her head. “My health’s not the best and who knows what tomorrow holds. I could die any moment and I don’t want him to see me in that state. It’s best if we see less of each other. That way he’ll have lesser memories of me and it’ll be less painful when I’m no longer here.”

Upon hearing her words, Colten could not help but let out a sigh. “Estelle, can you bring yourself to leave him though?”

Estelle lifted the corners of her lips.

Even if she could not bring herself to do it, how was she to handle the situation?
