Chapter 23

Skyler left the ward afterward and headed downstairs.

His phone rang and it was Camilla who was calling.

“Hello?”

“Skyler, where were you? I tried asking Zayne but he stammered all the while and was reluctant to let me know.”

Skyler took a deep breath and tried to regain his composure. “I’m out dealing with some business. Is your ankle better now? I’ll be back soon.”

“...You went to see Miss Sanders, am I right?”

“No, I didn’t. She’s not worth my time.” denied Skyler.

At the other end of the call, Camilla stayed silent for a while. She then hinted, “Why don’t you visit her? If her condition’s okay, you can urge her to hurry the divorce procedure. I can’t possibly stay with you without getting married.”

When Camilla brought up the divorce, for some reason, Skyler suddenly felt annoyed.

“...We’ll get divorced sooner or later anyway, it doesn’t matter when. All right now, Camilla, you’re still injured so don’t go worrying yourself with all these matters. Get some rest.”
