“I accept.” I say, the words leaving an echo that resounded across the room.

Alaric’s mouth closed and opened like a fish, as if he wanted to say something. David smiled from ear to ear, but said nothing in response.

“I just have to sign these papers, don’t I?”

I say a little too enthusiastically, lifting the paper in my hands, shaking.

I pick up the pen and signed the papers. All in one go.

Looking up, I find Alaric staring directly at me, his eyes going wide.

“Here.” I handed over the papers to David, who took them from me happily.

“Great! Then it’s all settled!” he mused, getting to his feet, papers clutched tightly in hand.

“The mating ceremony will be held by the next full moon. In the meantime, I will teach you to control your lycan.” He tells me. His words has me blinking my eyes at him, confused.
