ALARIC’S POV:

“Welcome back, your highness,” Fergus greeted me in the hallway across my office, opening the door.

I rolled my eyes at him. “Drop it.”

He put his palms up in the air, following me into my office.

“Who got you so cranky?” he asks, playfulness in his words.

Tossing my leather jacket over my seat, I plopped down the chair, running a hand down my face feeling exasperated.

“Having problems with the mate?” He started, leaning against the wall.

I shook my head and laughed.

“In fact, none at all.” I shrugged, meeting his confused gaze.

He furrowed his brows. “Then what’s with the frown?” He asked.

“Nothing,” I lie through gritted teeth. I pull my arms together against my chest before twirling the swivel chair to the opposite direction, not wanting to face Fergus and his nonstop questions about why the fuck I was in such a mood.

He quickly moved to my side and now he is leaning against my table, raising his brows even higher.
