Karica's POV

Once they were gone Xynathius finally let me go and whispered in all seriousness so only I could hear.

"He is a manwhore, a detriment to the Lycan name. I detest him, do not dance with him even if he asks."

"Relax, his eyes told me what a sleazeball he is. I don't want his filthy hands on me," I replied and casually took another sip of the drink, leaning into his touch.

"That's my good girl," he turned his attention to me, his eyes softening. "Come let me introduce you to some decent people," and I linked my arm with his. He led me towards the other guests.

He introduced me to the members of the Lycan Council. The old goons as he liked to call them. Their gazes scrutinised me and they asked tough questions but I kept my composure and didn't let them get to me.
