Casimir's Birthday III

I can't help but narrow my eyes, but as soon as I did, I felt his hands touch my cheeks and squeeze them playfully. Eventually, I am able to discern that he is indeed chuckling, but this time it is different.

"I suppose you wouldn't be able to understand," he says as he releases his grip on my face and immediately backs away, creating a formal greeting distance between two nobles of opposite genders.

I hear him sigh as he looks back at me with his eyes. When I look intently into his green irises, I immediately see my reflection. It would have been ideal if we had met like this when we first became acquainted, rather than when he is threatening me or discovering that I am the threat.

I smile at the thought, but it caused him to frown.

Before he finally speaks, I chuckle for a moment, but I can still see the confusion on his face. True, he is a pureblood, but I don't believe he can read minds, do you?

"Are you still planning on doing that?"
