The Troublesome Night II

The way he delivers those things almost gave me chills if it weren't for his laughter straight after. I was unable to speak, but my eyes were already wide open. I was momentarily perplexed before closing my eyes and concluding that everything he said was a joke.

I make up a chuckle while imitating him and say a few things to make his laughter audible.

I almost rolled my eyes when I responded, "Well, you could have told me if it's a joke so I could also laugh, Auster," but it baffled me when I tried to hear him laugh louder than before.

He continues softly, "But I wasn't joking when I said those words, Solstice," and when I look into his eyes, he seems to be telling the truth. Nonetheless, he couldn't stop laughing, which caused me to furrow my brows.

“Do you? Because, Auster, you don't look like it," I reply, shaking my head and finally groaning.

There are times when this individual is just something I can't understand.
