Chapter 40

Carson silently cried with his hands covering his face. His body was shaking, and he couldn’t control it. He felt nauseated and wanted to vomit. His entire body felt like it was no longer under his control. He looked at his bloodied hands but was unable to bring them down from his face. He was afraid. Afraid he that his eyes would lock unto the body of the old man. He wanted so very much to believe everything that was happening was nothing but a bad dream. That he had not seen right. That it was nothing more than the illusions created by the never-ending flickering of the lights. Yet, no matter how much he tried to tell himself that, he could not bring his hands down from his face. He was too afraid.
