“Alexander! Wait!” I screamed, tumbling after the dark-haired man who had broken through the door of the hotel room, stilling when he had seen the awkward embrace I had been in with Frederick, his brother.

“Don’t Dar, it’s dangerous! He’s not himself right now!” Fredrick rasped, his large hand hooking on my upper arm as he stared down at me intensely, his blue eyes ablaze with what I thought was worry.

Gosh! What was I thinking? I shook myself from his grip, watching hurt flicker across his face and shaking my head before bolting for the door, slapping my hands on the frame to peer around the dimly lit block.

“It’s not what you think Alexander!” I screamed as my bare feet slapped loudly on the wood, cringing when I realized that was just about the worst thing I could have said. The anthem of every cheating bastard.
