IF CONFUSION WAS A PERSON

Julia felt the coldness of the concrete floor run through her legs upward to her thighs, like she was just stepping on them for the first time. Why did Nick leave a note? She wasn’t expecting to see him in bed this late in the morning, he was a cop after all.

Julia walked slowly to the lamp desk, she picked up the small piece of paper that looked like it was torn from a little notepad, and sat on the bed.

She covered her mouth in shock, when she saw what the note contained; it was a very short note, but the words were heavy and unexpected.

It read;

“Will you be my girlfriend?

Yours truly, Nick”
