A chaotic birthday

Pamela:

After Mia slammed the door, I locked it and turned around, my back to the door, taking deep breaths and closing my eyes.

"Mr. Markinson wants to meet you today at the party because he couldn't yesterday!" Mia yelled as she walked away.

I opened my eyes to find Royal staring at my naked body.

"Do not do that!" I screamed.

Then he turned around, and I walked over to the bed, yanked the duvet off the bed, and wrapped it around my body. I then removed his shirt. "Here," I said, and he turned around to take it.

"Get yourself together and get out!" I turned away, my arms crossed across my chest.

Then he scoffed and got out of bed. When he went into the bathroom, I threw myself face down on the bed and yelled into the sheets. I despised my life at the time, and the memory of last night made my stomach knot with disgust. Instead of butterflies, I felt like maggots were scurrying around in my stomach.

I probably should fire him, I thought to myself as I got out of bed.

He should have known better; I was drunk, and he could have stopped me, but he took advantage of me.

I paced around the room, contemplating the best way to get rid of Royal. The voices in my head became more pronounced, filling the entire room and making it difficult for me to concentrate on anything.

"Ms. Pamela, I need to tell you something," Royal said, and I gasped.

"You're fired!" I blurted out without thinking twice and turned around to face him.

"What?" he asked, his eyes widening…

White and gold flowers were used to decorate the hall. Massive chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Mia went out of her way for me, with a tall wine tower and an alluring cake statue of me in the center.

We hadn't discussed what she saw earlier, and I'm glad she didn't bring it up. I felt bad about firing Royal, but I thought it was best for us; after all, how could I address the crowd at work knowing he had seen me butt naked?

"Miss Pamela Williams, soon to be Mrs. Pamela......." My mother's voice echoed from behind me.

When I turned around, her arms were wide open, her lips were raised, and her brows were drawn to the center. She was as lovely as I remembered. Her gray hairs had sprouted more, and while she was insecure about them, they only made her look like an aging fine wine.

I ignored the fact that she expected me to finish her sentence with my fiancé's name; all I did was bury my face on her chest while she patted my back. I fought back tears as the scent of her Cherry Blossom perfume filled my nostrils.

"I'm proud of you, my dear," my mother said, gently patting my hair.

I drew back and gave her a faint smile.

"All of you!" As my mother took my hands, the M.C yelled and I swallowed hard.

The warmth of her hand made me feel sad rather than safe, and my hands trembled as we walked to the front of the hall. It was time for me to make my opening remarks and introduce my fiancé to the entire family.

"Mum," I said softly, gently grabbing her arm to stop her. She came to a halt and looked me in the eyes.

"Don't be nervous, my child; your entire family is proud of you. "You are surrounded by nothing but pure love from your family and close friends," she gently stroked my cheeks.

"Come on, we need to see this young man in the flesh," she said, taking my hand again.

"Ms. Pamela Williams, please," the MC said before leaving the pulpit to assist me in ascending the stage.

With a smile on her lips, my mother handed me over to him, and she clapped along with everyone else in the hall as I strode up the short flight of stairs that led to the stage.

You got this, I told myself.

My heart became heavy as I approached the pulpit in the center of the stage and my eyes darted across the room, seeing my close friends and family. As the cloak of disappointment hung over me, I suddenly lost my speech cognizance and just stared at them without saying anything.

"MS. Pamela," The M.c said in my ear, and I snapped out of it.

"I'm sorry," I said, forcing a smile up my cheeks. Then I cleared my throat and started speaking.

"Good evening to all. Friends and family, as you are all aware, it is my birthday," I said shyly.

"And the day I present the man I'm supposed to marry..." I mumbled the word "marry" and then laughed, but the hall fell silent.

Then I turned to the right, where my mother was standing, and saw that her smile had faded and Mia had her hand resting on her brow. I was definitely embarrassed. Fuck you, Liam, I thought to myself.

"To be honest, I'd love to show you my fiancé, but..." I was about to finish when I turned around to face the crowd and saw Liam standing in flesh and blood with his alleged wife.

How dare he? Hasn't he done enough?

"Can someone please tell me who the fuck let this man in here?" I yelled the moment our eyes locked.

Everyone turned to look at him right away. Then he tightened his grip on his wife and whispered into her ears.

“Mia! Security! "Someone get him the fuck out of here," I yelled into the mic, and everyone murmured.

My rage had grown to the point where I could no longer contain it. I walked down the stage, not caring if I broke a nail or two.

"Will someone please explain what the hell is going on?" My mother rushed up to me and asked.

"Oh, mama, you're about to find out," I said, knotting my hair and removing my heels.

"Ms. Pam Pam," Mia said, trying to stop me.

"You'd better stay out of this one, Mia; keep your advice to the office," I said as I entered the crowd.

Liam kept a straight face in front of his wife and remained silent as he watched me rant publicly. I was aware that people were watching and possibly recording, but I didn't care because I was going to smack his cheating life.

I was about to throw a punch in Liam's face when I heard Royal's voice.

"I'm sorry I'm late," he apologized, and I stopped dead in my tracks to see him by the door properly dressed in a high-class suit with flowers in his hand.

He approached me, wrapped his hands around my waist, and then pressed his lips against mine…
