I can’t hold it anymore

Pamela:

Royal had to call at this moment. Charles already felt terrible for having me here, and I didn't know how he would feel when I told him I wanted to go back.

While I was still lost in thoughts, I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said, and Charles walked in.

"You haven't changed yet?" He asked, and then I nodded.

I didn't know whether to break the news to him or just stall for a while. Then I decided to let him speak first, so that I can decide my next line of action.

"You must be hungry, and I wanted to know what you'd like to eat so that I can get the helpers to make it for you," he said.

That was really nice of him. Going back to my apartment would mean eating take away daily, or having to prepare my meal, and I didn't want that. But then I had to be loyal to Royal, and I couldn't breach our contract.

"Actually I was thinking of going back to my place," I said, and then I watched his face fall.
