Sally's POV

Athena nodded "Because he was an Alpha born and he had a long line of Alpha blood in him, he held on to the last thread of life a lot."

"So who is the leader now?" I ask.

Athena sighed. "Albert. He's doing the best he can. The boys are losing their minds, they're losing hope. They're becoming desperate and defenseless just by looking at their fallen Alpha, who is on the brink of death."

I could feel the pain of my guilt falling upon me, plunging me into utter agony. I sighed heavily.

"Not your fault," Athena said comfortingly.

Athena walked up to the porch and opened the door. I could hear the boys welcoming her with so much warmth and love. The kind of welcome I've never had in a long time.
