Third person POV

He emphasized. “Which warehouse?”

Sally began with a sigh. “I was kidnapped… before I came back here. For four months.”

Lifting her eyes from the bedsheets, she looked at her grandmother. “I don't know, but she did something behind my ear. And she said my body is nothing but flesh, it has no soul. What does she mean?”

“Which ear?” Mrs. Willow skipped the next question.

Sally folded her right ear and leaned forward so her grandmother and Ryan could see. Everything was silent until a gasp escaped the woman's mouth. Sally knew it was a bad sign.

“Who did this to you, Sally?” Ryan probed, wrinkling his forehead to show how serious he was.

Sally sighed again. "It's Kaytlyn." Glanced at the scars on her inner forearm. “Even these,”

Ryan's eyes suddenly turned darker than his normal chocolate eyes, as a menacing growl rang out in his throat.

Sally placed her hand on his chest, trying to calm him down, which was like a spell.

“I'm fine now. She died." She stopped, looking at
