CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT: The Moment

"Oh, by the way, congratulations on the successful conference today. I know your company will continue to thrive," I said, trying to steal a glance at him, a slight smile on my lips. Then I shifted my gaze away from him, focusing on our path, while my hands held onto my small red purse.

"Thank you, Lola. Well, I hope so. And I know that through this, many opportunities are waiting for me," he replied, a sense of joy on his face as he spoke.

"Yeah," I said, nodding along. Then I continued with a playful tone, "And when was the last time I heard that your business didn't make it to the top? You even surpassed me." We both laughed as we continued walking.

"Not like that," he chuckled softly, scratching his head and sliding his hand back into his pocket. Then he continued, "But in my opinion, I can't compete, especially when it comes to painting. You are the most talented and skilled girl I know, and that's the compliment I've heard from others when it comes to you."
