CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: Adam?

She walked away from us when she answered the call on his phone.

I just put my attention on what I am eating, then continue. Silence enveloped us again.

“Hmm, anyway--how’s you two? Aunt and uncle?” Jane opened up a conversation to cut off the silence. Dad and mom glance at Jane.

“Well, we’re all good, the same as before. How about you? Your family?” dad said after he and mom looked at each other to see who would answer Jane's question. Jane swallowed the food in her mouth before she spoke.

“Well, just the same, uncle, even we’re busy with our own businesses..” she laughed a bit when she said that, then she put her eyes to what she was eating.

“Yeah, I see..” dad nods while pressing his lips.

“By the way, how about you, Trisha? Summer?” as mom mentioned their names, they stopped eating, putting their attention on mom for a moment.
