CHAPTER 36

"Grantt! Grantt! My son! Where is my son?! Where?!" Mommy Gretchen's voice dominated outside the operating room. She was being held back by Olga and Daddy Ortize.

Lou and Judie's grip on me tightened, perhaps to prevent me from insisting on entering the operating room. No, I wouldn't do that because I knew Grantt's condition was critical, and barging into his current location wouldn't help.

"O-Olga," I called Grantt's older sister. All of them turned to look at me. I swallowed when my eyes met Mommy Gretchen's.

"You! What did you do to my son!" she exclaimed at me and suddenly lunged.

Olga, unaware of her actions, couldn't stop her from getting away. She grabbed my hair.

"What the hell, Ma'am?! Let go of Yongsann! It's not her fault!" Judie shouted, trying to pull me away from Grantt's mother.

"It was an accident! No one wanted that to happen to Grantt!" Lou shouted.
