"She's not your mate, Lucien," Reinhardt said to him the next day.

Lucien was seated behind his desk. He looked deep in thought. "You are not totally wrong, Reinhardt. But do you think I care if she is or not?"

"I understand how you feel but that's not how it works. We are not to go against the Moon goddess' choice for us. She knows what is best for us, Lucien,"

"I know what is best for me," Lucien said and gave him a hard look. "You don't understand how I feel,"

"I do," Reinhardt replied. "When I met Geneva. I felt like I couldn't do without her. She's my world,"

"That's the same way I feel about Lillith. Can't you understand that?!"

"She's not your mate! That's the difference! Geneva is my mate. Do you think it's going to be easy on you if you get married to her? You might love her all you want but that is never enough!"

"You don't know what you are talking about, brother. I care for her and her baby—"

Reinhardt stopped. He was filled with shock.
