"You must know why I've called you here, so have some tea." Mr. Reed said.

Harvey knew it was about his marriage to Quinn, as they had previously held an engagement ceremony. Due to internal family issues within the Susan lineage, and a decision to sever ties with Harvey's family, the wedding had been postponed.

"Have you not understood my intentions? Allow me to be direct then – I do not wish to marry your daughter. She is wonderful, but I do not love her. If you truly seek a union between our families, you can choose someone else from the Susan lineage. It doesn't have to be me." Harvey said nonchalantly.

Harvey's demeanor and attitude aligned with Quinn's prior description – cold, indifferent, and dismissive. Arranged marriages were often devoid of love, a fact understood by many, yet Harvey chose to use this obvious reason to reject the proposed union.
