Chapter 38: Hospital

Each beat of my heart feels strong as I anxiously wait for Yannie's response. It's like stepping into a job interview, unsure if I'll be accepted or not. While waiting for Yannie's reply, my feet continuously pace, almost making a complete loop around my condo.

"Hello? Josh?" Yannie finally answers my call. I quickly stop in my tracks and sit on my bed.

I clear my throat. "Did I disturb you?" I ask her.

"Uh... no. Not really. I wasn't doing anything important," she replies.

"Are you at home?" I inquire.

"Uh... yes, I'm at home. I just didn't get to text earlier because Mom asked me to do something," she explains.

"I see..."

I hear her clearing her throat on the other end. "By the way, why did you call?"

"Uh... I just want to ask if you're free tomorrow night," I inquire.

"Huh?" She responds, seemingly surprised by my question.

"Then, if you're free, can we meet? I have something to tell you," I told her.

"Uhm... w-where will we meet?"

"I'll fetch you from
