“Is there something wrong, Dani?” Marcus asked when the woman suddenly became silent. Her eyes were sad as she arranged the flowers in a flower vase and he wanted to comfort her.

“It’s nothing, Marcus. I just remembered my father,” she lied. “By the way, how’s the annulment going on?” She trusted him to start the processing immediately as she couldn’t stay like this forever, and the most effective defense was an offense. So, that’s what she did.

“Don’t worry about it, Dani. I received the forms yesterday so later, I may have to ask for you to sign it.” The forms weren’t filled up yet but he may have to do it later with haste. The woman was right, the sooner the better, and it was good for both of them.

Daniella nodded. “Just remind me later,” she said and refused to look at Marcus and kept herself busy with the flower arrangement.

“Why are you in a hurry to annul the marriage, Dani?” It bothered his pride that the woman was no longer attracted to him.
